Some notes about the conversion table

  • The table above shows the approximate number of minutes you can talk for and standard national SMSs you can send depending on how you use the cap.
  • Each person's use of the allowance is different so the above table is only to serve as a guide to make it easy for you to compare between our plans, and compare Live Connected to our competitors.
  • To calculate the number of minutes we've assumed an average phone call lasts for 3 minutes.
  • We assumed the following % of the Talk & Text to Anyone allowance would be used: Prefer to Talk (75%), Balance (50%), Prefer to Text (25%)
  • To calculate the number of SMSs we've assumed the SMSs sent are to standard national mobile numbers (excluding Pivotel).

Tribe 8 & Tribe 11 plans have 4 allowances that work concurrently. These are:
  • Talk and Text to Anyone
  • Talk to Live Connected Mobiles
  • Included Data
  • Unlimited Social Networking
Because the allowances work concurrently, unlike some other plans you don't need to use up all of your allowance on one box before you get the other.

So for example:
  • If you call or text a non-Live Connected number your calls come out of the Talk & Text to Anyone box's allowance
  • If you call a Live Connected mobile within Australia your calls come out of the Talk to Live Connected box's allowance
This allows you to get best use of your bonus Live Connected to Live Connected credit.

Some important things to remember:
  • If you exceed the usage on one of the box's allowances, the excess cannot be put into another box. For example if you exceed you Talk to Live Connected mobiles box allowance, the excess will be charged on top of your plan access fee. 
  • If you exceed the included value in any one billing period the standard rates of your plan will apply.

  • 124 YES (937), Optus Zoo Browsing, Optus Zoo Downloads, Content Packs (unless specified in promotions), Mobile Internet usage, TrueLocal usage, Directory Assistance, SurePage, Premium Calls/SMS/MMS, VOIP services and usage, 12XX and 19XX services.
  • All other call, data and transaction types that are not specifically mentioned as being included.
